The Met Gala’s famous fashions have inspired another annual show—and this one has gone to the dogs. The Pet Gala began in 2015 as a hobby of designer Anthony Rubio, who wanted to re-create each year’s best looks (the frippery, the frills and more) but for animals. A decade later it has evolved into a full-scale production. This year 15 pooches showed off in meticulously crafted callback ensembles. “I always look for the outfits that stole the show,” says Rubio. “The dogs are the models, and the humans are the accessories.”
