The new tower is designed to complement the existing towers of the historic Disneyland Hotel while adding distinctive details that celebrate the art – and artists – of Disney Animation. Examples on the tower’s exterior range from an illuminated Tinker Bell and her trail of pixie dust to the stacked “color story†bars that frame villa balconies, representing the carefully curated collections of colors unique to each Walt Disney Animation Studios film.
Walt Disney Animation Studios created a custom mural that promises to be among the most photographed focal points of the tower’s communal gathering space. Featuring everyone from Aurora to Aladdin and Bambi to Baymax, Mickey to Mirabel and Snow White to Sisu, the magical masterpiece celebrates a century of Disney Animation from which the resort’s creators have drawn endless inspiration.
A comfortably covered poolside bar draws playful inspiration from the distinctive design style of Disney Legend Mary Blair, who helped introduce modern art to Walt Disney and his studio.
Celebrating the groundbreaking short that first synchronized sound with animation and introduced the world to Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, a “Steamboat Willieâ€-inspired splash pad magically transforms from its daytime black and white to vibrant technicolor after dark.
Mutli-colored pergolas cast a rainbow-hued glow alongside the Palette Pool, a mid-century modern hangout flanked by shaded cabanas and plenty of places to soak up the California sun.
“Garden Pod†buildings place select accommodations poolside, with a bridge connecting to the main tower.
