This year, the state’s longest-running and most prestigious amateur championship heads to Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas for the first time in history. Designed by the highly regarded architectural team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, Trinity Forest will provide a thrilling atmosphere and complete test as 144 of the best amateur golfers in Texas compete for the H.L. Edwards Memorial Trophy from June 13-16. Adding to the intensity level, as an official USGA Exemption Event beginning in 2024, the winner of the Texas Amateur at Trinity Forest will receive an automatic bid into this year’s U.S. Amateur Championship, to be played Aug. 12-18 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn.
