Youth on Course, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring all young people have access to golf regardless of cost or circumstance, recently celebrated a major milestone of three million rounds played by its members. The landmark round was played in the Greater Los Angeles area by Youth on Course member Cruz Amador at the Don Knabe Golf Center.
The remarkable achievement was nearly two decades in the making. It took Youth on Course 14 years to reach its first million rounds played by members, 28 months for the second million, and just 17 months for the third million – a testament to the accelerating growth of the program that was established in 2006 by the Northern California Golf Association with six courses taking part initially. Youth on Course now boasts nearly 200,000 members with access to play golf for $5 or less at more than 2,000 courses throughout the United States, Canada, and Australia.
The TGA Foundation partnered with Youth on Course in January 2020 to bring the program to Texas to make sure young people across the state have access to life-changing opportunities through golf.
