Established by the Texas Golf Association in 2023, the Project Muni Grant Program is a multi-year financial commitment to investing in municipal golf course facilities across Texas.
The program’s purpose is to grant funds to help municipal facilities overcome budgetary challenges so they can initiate agronomy projects and practices that will help improve course conditions, enhance the playing experience, or make the game more accessible for all backgrounds and abilities. To be eligible for the grant program, municipal facilities must be a current member club of the TGA. The Project Muni Grant Program is funded by the TGA and administered by the TGA Foundation, the philanthropic organization of the TGA.
In the first year of Project Muni, the TGA Foundation awarded $75,000 in grant funding to 16 member club municipal facilities to assist with various course improvement projects and practices, including on-site agronomy consulting, new maintenance equipment, conditioning, and expanding infrastructure.
