The 409-yard par-4 17th hole at Nassau Country Club on the North Shore of Long Island requires an accurate tee shot to navigate the staggered bunkers left and right of the fairway. Players may also choose to lay up, leaving a longer approach. The green slopes dramatically from the right front to the back left, with a deep bunker guarding the left side of the green. The most difficult hole location is left middle, as the ball tends to run off the green into the collection area when the greens are running at 13 or above, as they often do. While not a long par 4 by today’s standards, No. 17 is still a worthy challenge to any golfer.
