Life after college
Eric Disharoon, M.S. ’99 has lived in Hanover, Pennsylvania, for the past eight years with his wife of 23 years, Gina, son Antonio, 9, and three dogs. He works at Sinclair Broadcast Group in Hunt Valley and keeps busy (out of trouble) volunteering with youth football, swim, and lacrosse.
Sarah Williams Duffy is back in Anchorage, Alaska, with her husband and 16-year-old daughter, Sadie. Her oldest daughter, Maren, is a junior in college in Washington state. Sarah works as an elementary art teacher in Anchorage.
All is well in Rockville, Maryland, for Brett Goyne and Stephanie Lee Goyne ’95. They spent several weekends at the Hill visiting their son, Brady Goyne ’26, and were happy to run into several DUs and Phi Sigs while tailgating for football games. They are both excited and anxious to become empty nesters when daughter, Stella, heads off to college in the fall.
Sarah Biggs Henderson spent a lot of time on the Delaware shore this summer with husband, Darren, and daughters Emma and Abby Warner ’26. Sarah is in her 28th year of teaching in Carroll County and enjoys watching Abby thrive at McDaniel.
Jessica Barlow Howell, M.S. ’92 and Rob Howell ’91 have enjoyed taking trips to Oxford, Mississippi, this year to visit their daughter Hailey, who is a freshman at Ole Miss. Their younger daughter, Hannah, keeps them entertained with her love of theatre. Jessica is very active on the drama boosters board and Rob continues to coach girls’ lacrosse.
Mark Titus left the Carl Sandburg Learning Center in June 2022 after 25 years there. He has now completed two years working at Walt Whitman High School, in Bethesda, Maryland, in the Learning for Independence program. “I really enjoy working there, especially knowing that I am making a difference and seeing how much the students miss me if I’m out for one or two days. I also enjoy working at Walt Whitman High School since there are two other Green Terror alumni. One is the principal, Rob Dodd ’93, M.S. ’02, and the other is assistant football coach John Floyd ’06. I am still one of the co-leaders of the Montgomery County, Maryland, alumni chapter with Maureen Carroll Martin ’86, and have enjoyed events at the Lone Oak Brewing Company, in Olney, Maryland. I also enjoyed seeing alumni, President Julia Jasken, and admitted students, in November, at the Stanford Grill, in Rockville, Maryland, on admitted students’ night. I also enjoyed seeing alumni at the annual event at Brookside Gardens, in Wheaton, Maryland, to see the holiday lights. I look forward to seeing alumni at future Montgomery County, Maryland, alumni events as well as at Homecoming this fall!”
Tom Quirk retired from the Baltimore County Council in late 2022 after 12 years of public service. He is enjoying having only one full-time job now and has worked as a financial advisor for the past 30 years. He runs a company called Retirement and Investment Group and ranks in the top 1% of advisors in the nation. Forbes has listed Tom as a “Best-In-State Wealth Advisor” since 2020. Tom is fortunate to have many retired professors, active professors, and founders alumni as clients and close friends. Dave Weaver ’91, who is married to Sue Parker Weaver ’92, works closely alongside Tom as the chartered financial analyst on staff. Tom and Heather live in Oella, Maryland, with the family. He still keeps in active touch with ’92 classmates Brett Cohen and Niccolo Amodeo. In Tom’s spare time, he enjoys being with family and friends, exercising, reading, hiking, the Center Club, and visiting Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and Acadia National Park, Maine.
