The Get on the Bus campaign is an employee payroll donation campaign that has been making waves in Goose Creek CISD. The campaign gives employees the opportunity to donate to the GCCISD Education Foundation through payroll deductions. In return for the donation, employees receive a T-shirt, long sleeve and/or polo and the opportunity to wear jeans twice a month. The funds raised go towards supporting innovative educational programs that benefit students.
The foundation recently held a contest for the Get on the Bus campaign and the response was outstanding. The top two elementary and secondary campuses with the highest employee participation percentage received a delicious breakfast. Lamar Elementary and Clark Elementary took the top two spots respectively in the elementary category while GCCISD Virtual School and Point Alternative were first and second in the secondary category. The Agriscience building and Administration were ranked first and second respectively in the auxiliary buildings category.
It’s worth noting that several campuses also received recognition for having a high participation rate in the campaign. Harlem
Elementary, Bañuelos Elementary, Ashbel Smith Elementary, and IMPACT Early College High School received banners for having over 75% of their employees participate in the campaign. This shows that the campaign has been successful in not only raising funds but also in promoting a sense of community and involvement among employees.
More than 1,500 employees participate in the campaign. The campaign not only raises funds to support innovative educational programs but also fosters a sense of community among employees. With such positive results, it’s clear that this campaign is here to stay and will continue to benefit both students and teachers for years to come.
