Charlie Woods, the 16-year-old son of Tiger Woods, made a significant splash in the junior golf world last Wednesday, winning the American Junior Golf Association’s Team TaylorMade Invitational at Florida’s Streamsong Resort.
Woods, who shot 70-65-66 on Streamsong’s Black Course, finished at 15-under par and prevailed by three strokes. The 71-player field included four of the top five players in the AJGA Rolex Rankings, including No. 1 Miles Russell.
Playing on a sponsor invitation, Woods began the tournament ranked outside the top 600 and was projected to move into the top 20 by virtue of winning.
“Just being able to say to myself that I have won an absolutely amazing event and say that I have performed under high pressure situations is huge going forward,” Woods said. “I haven’t been able to say that I have done that and now that I can it is a big thing for my mental game going forward.” READ MORE

A three-part docuseries that premieres this week will chronicle the rebirth of Philadelphia’s Cobbs Creek Golf Course, the venerable municipal layout that was once the home course of Charlie Sifford, the first African-American to play and win on the PGA Tour.
Part 1 of “Cobbs Creek Rising: Headwaters to Horizons” will stream exclusively on the GolfPass website and mobile app starting Thursday and will air on Golf Channel on June 17 at 7 p.m. EDT.
The docuseries will chronicle a group of Philadelphia visionaries’ efforts to restore the course, which opened in 1916 but was shuttered in 2020, and make it the centerpiece of a dynamic education and recreation campus for the West Philadelphia community that will include a TGR Learning Lab, backed by Tiger Woods’ TGR Foundation, and a short course designed by Woods’ TGR Design.
