The all-new Cleveland Golf RTZ wedges feature a groundbreaking new steel formula offering a combination of feel, forgiveness and greenside control.
Unlike conventional materials, Cleveland’s one-of-a-kind Z-Alloy – engineered exclusively for the benefit of golf clubs – boasts a lower density that allows for more flexible design options. Testing reveals the new RTZ wedges are 10 percent softer than the RTX 6 ZipCore wedges, providing better feel, forgiveness and consistency, and Z-Alloy’s unique anti-rust properties result in grooves that deteriorate 87 percent slower and retain up to 15 percent more spin over time than those in previous generation wedges.
“The enhancements this new material offers shows up in every area that matters,” said Patrick Ripp, Cleveland Golf’s tour engineering manager. “The feel is pure, aesthetic is cleaner and the consistency golfers will see around the greens is improved. From top to bottom, this is our most complete wedge to date.”
Six additional grams of discretionary mass were moved into more optimal areas of the clubhead, allowing the center of gravity to be shifted toward the center of the clubhead and put the sweet spot right where it was intended.
The RTZ wedges – the Tour Rack ($189.99), Tour and Black Satin ($169.99) – come in four versatile sole grind options including the new RTZ Adapt grind that features its own face shape and full-face grooves ideal for sand and lob wedge lofts.
