Thanks, Matt Cooper, for the column on Matteo Manassero (“An Italian renaissance on European tour,” November 11 GGP).
I became a fan of his in those early years and enjoyed his smile and happy playing style.
A few years ago, I noticed he wasn't mentioned at all anywhere in the world of golf and wondered what happened. I thought that he, like others, chased ball speed and distance until it ruined his game. Or perhaps he was injured. Then a year ago, I saw he was playing again and hoped he found it. I see he did, and I truly hope he keeps it this time.
Golf can use people like Matteo. Thanks for the update.
