three Trends
Location Themes, Beautiful Colors
The golf market is also seeing the emergence of brands built around a unique idea or location. Harlestons, for example, is gaining ground with its refined balance of style, function and a nod to its Charleston, South Carolina, heritage. Layers are light and midweight with sophisticated details and intricate trims, and the color palette starts with shades of aqua, deep water and mills pink before switching up to more muted fall tones like magnolia, shell and sweetgrass.
“As always, our inspiration draws deeply from Charleston and South Carolina, visible in our thoughtfully chosen prints, hues and names,” the company says.
In another example, Scales Gear has seen a steady rise in popularity with its Offshore Country Club Collection of authentic coastal lifestyle-inspired prints. The company has added a True Performance Quarter-Zip Pullover, Quarter-Snap Frigate Pullover and Full-Zip Hybrid Jacket to its layering collection, as well as its new comfort-driven East Short and Pant, a selection of junior apparel, full-zip flex sleeveless piece and “after-hour” Cruz Hoodie.
Color is always a driving force in golf apparel, as evidenced by Ahead’s spirited homage to Americana in celebration of the Ryder Cup returning to Long Island’s Bethpage Black this fall. The Vapor Collection’s Adams Polo is a crisp white statement piece adorned with an American flag print, while the Jackson Polo is a navy classic elevated by refined red and white piping on the neckline and sleeves, and the Asher Jacket is a track-inspired design with red, white and blue piecing. Also look for the Expanse Collection, which introduces a contemporary palette and bold patterns in the Dominic Polo in understated mini-floral prints, Henry Polo in nautical buoy-inspired prints and Colt Quarter-Zip, which is done in a heather pique design for versatile, on-the-go wear.
Color is also front and center for Greg Norman Collection, which continues to prioritize performance with ML75 stretch and mesh fabrics with Play Dry for a soft, breathable feel that wicks moisture away to ensure comfort and ease in any condition. The Lost in Paradise Collection features a vibrant color palette of deep blue, birdie green, night sky and escape blue in pieces like a new performance full-button polo with a jacquard pattern fabric, while the Chasing Sunset capsule offers a chic mix of neutral tones like biscotti and café with rich black accents in palm prints, seashell paisley and Italian Riviera-inspired conversational prints that transition from the course to beyond. Also look for the Shark Lab collection featuring abstract interpretations of fins, teeth and tails in a sleek color palette of black, gray and deep blue.
At the same time, Antigua has put together a thoughtful mix of deep, grounding hues and playful accents, including oxford blue and traditional navy, vivid pink tones like dragon fruit, plum and verbena, and deep green ocean tones — from skywater to deep marine — that round out the collection with a sense of calm and sophistication. The line also presents “game-changing fabrics” focused on feeling comfortable on course, from moisture-wicking textured knits to ultra-soft materials that move with the golfer. Collection prints include modern geometrics, whimsical florals, abstract designs, golf-themed conversationals and micro floral patterns for a subtle, refined aesthetic.
In addition, FootJoy’s line is all about updated designs in prints and patterns of different size and scale, as well as multiple mid-layer pieces, including hoodies, sweaters and vests. Collections include Monterey, inspired by Monterey, California’s iconic landscapes with shades like high tide, air blue and magenta; Kohala, a tribute to the one of Hawaii’s most scenic coasts with a palette of periwinkle, ice water, orchid and black; and Valley, where athletic inspiration meets modern style in steel blue, navy and seafoam. Also look for ThermoSeries, the company’s “most advanced and versatile layering system ever” with a jacquard jacket, full-zip hybrid jacket, fleece vest and hybrid mid-layer.
John Ashworth Returns
In the category of big industry news, Ashworth introduces its first line since the return of co-founder John Ashworth, who is using his new role as Creative Director to achieve a “modern yet timeless sensibility made with innovative fabrics with performance features, quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.” The fall offering includes two product capsules: AG/TECH, designed to keep golfers cool and dry for maximum comfort and athletic performance when the heat index is turned up; and CT/TECH, where lux fine cotton yarns are blended with technical high-performance poly to combine comfort with performance features like moisture wicking, antimicrobial, UPF 50+ protection and easy care. To complete the look, Ashworth offers some unique pant/short styles and several versatile layering pieces, including a corduroy shacket for chilly fall afternoons.
In another notable announcement, Duca del Cosma is launching its first-ever apparel collection, which aligns with the brand’s vision for modern golf fashion and often complements the company’s footwear selections. Men’s polo models — the Romeo, Romeo Pro, Riccardo and Rocco — are made of a premium quality bamboo charcoal and the recycled Repreve performance fabric, offering 4-way stretch for athletic freedom of movement, a soft hand feel against the skin and subtle Italian design touches on the buttons, back neck tape and side seam. Also included in this initial apparel collection are mid-layers boasting a luxuriously soft heathered texture, including a half-zip style called the Luca.
In its second year on the market, Payne Stewart Collection has expanded its bottoms assortment to include five new styles of pants and shorts. Done in alpha sizing (M to XXL) for easier stocking and selling, the line includes the iconic Payne’s Plus Four, famously worn by Stewart and available in plaid, gray and dusk, with features like an adjustable waist and cuff, hand pockets and button flap back hip pockets; Lux Pleated Trouser, available in the same colors with a 34-inch inseam and high-quality wool and elastane blend for four-season wear; and more casual offerings in the 5-Pocket Performance Pant, 5-Pocket Tech Shorts and 5-Pocket Fist Pump Tech Shorts. In addition to using durable polyester/ spandex blend fabrics that move with the golfer, Payne Stewart Collection bottoms incorporate stretch in the waistband – something normally seen only with high-end denim brands – to increase comfort and facilitate the alpha sizing.
And the news from Donald Ross is a re-introduction of the knit collar, which the company calls “a timeless tradition reimagined for select fall ’25 sport polos.” The new cutaway knit collar, whose vibrant color blocks and texture contrasts add a bold pop to the golfer’s wardrobe, offers a modern twist on a classic design, blending style with the brand’s high-performance fabric body construction. At the same time, the signature fully fashioned collar structure remains unchanged, “ensuring the same durability and quality found in all Donald Ross apparel,” says the company.
Men’s undergarments continue to grow as a category in golf shops across the country, and BN3TH celebrates its 15th anniversary with the expansion of its two core lines: Classic, which is everyday product made with natural fibers; and Pro, designed for an active lifestyle with performance fabrics. The Classic Icon Collection features the Classic Icon Boxer Brief, whose ultra-soft fabric is made from naturally breathable Tencel Modal fibers, and the Original 3D Pouch, whose lift and support eliminates the need to shift or adjust. Also look for BN3TH’s classic T-shirt, socks and sleepwear, as well as a palette of vintage violet, pepper beige, merlot and duffle green, and new prints like buffalo check fog, pineapple fade cloudburst, palm tree horizon mimosa and cacti black.
