The Senior Series Team Championship at Crow Canyon CC turned out to be a thriller.
The teams of Gilbert Castillo and Nick Ronchetto and Ike Leitas and Howard Taylor finished tied with matching scores of 9-60. Castillo and Ronchetto would win the title following a playoff.
In other action, the team of Lynne and David Whelan finished T-7 at 65. With their finish, the Whelans secured Senior Series Team of the Year honors.
The NCGA Senior Series has its second back-to-back Player of the Year.
Gregory Garcia of Stockton shot a round of 4-under 68 and defeated Sacramento's Eric Scott to win the 2025 Senior Series Individual Championship at Carmel Valley Ranch.
Thanks to the win, Garcia earned Player of the Year honors, finishing the season with 340 points. Garcia joins Mario Perez, Jr. (2020-21) as the only players to win consecutive titles.
Bruce Anderson was third at 2-under 70.
In the Super Senior division, Xavier Valdez of Sacramento posted a round of 8-under 63 to win by five shots over runner-up Bill Schult.
Valdez' round included nine birdies and an eagle on the par-4 9th to go against just three bogeys.
The victory also moved Valdez to 330 points, earning him Super Senior Player of the Year honors.
