Joe Pavelski captured his first American Century Championship title at Edgewood Tahoe in mid-July, carding an eagle on the 18th hole to beat former pitcher John Smoltz by nine points in the Stableford event.
The leader of the Sharks’ 2016 Stanley Cup Finals squad, Pavelski had 29 points in the final round to finish at 73 points.
"I don't know what to say, actually," said Pavelski, who shared a hug with his caddie after the eagle putt fell in. "But just an amazing week. This place is incredible. It means the world to me."
Smoltz had a 28-point final round.
"I was trying to put heat on anybody, the top three," Smoltz said. "I was just trying to climb as many people as I could."
Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, the 2023 winner, was fifth at 58 after a 23-point round.
Fan favorite Charles Barkley was 69th in the 90-player field at minus-17 points.
