Monday, Aug. 17 marked 10 years of supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder through the annual On the Tee for Autism Golf Outing presented by Revels Turf & Tractor/John Deere Golf. Hosted through a partnership with the Sullivan Family and the CDGA Foundation, this year’s event at Chicago Highlands Club in Westchester brought together golfers and supporters for a day of golf, community and giving back, with proceeds supporting the CDGA’s Sunshine Through Golf Camp program.
The event began with the Kids Golf Foundation and Turning Pointe Autism Foundation hosting an instructional golf clinic for youth and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The clinic gave participants an opportunity to learn the game of golf in a fun and engaging environment before the day’s outing got underway.
Following the clinic, 34 foursomes took to the course for a round filled with on-course contests and friendly competition, along with a long-drive showcase from top-ranked Long Drive competitor Hunter Noell. Once the final putts dropped, golfers, friends and family gathered for dinner to celebrate another successful year of On the Tee for Autism, complete with a raffle and silent auction. In all, the event raised more than $120,000 to support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and the CDGA Sunshine Program.
