Last month, the Western Golf Association (WGA) announced that Inspire11 will serve as the presenting sponsor of the 124th Western Amateur, July 27–Aug. 1 at Beverly Country Club (pictured). Inspire11 is a business and technology consulting firm founded by Alban Mehmeti, an Evans Scholar Alum who graduated from Indiana University. The 2026 iteration marks the third time the Western Amateur will be contested at the historic South Side facility, which hosted the 2014 championship won by Beau Hossler and the 1930 event claimed by John Lehman.
The popular Upper Deck Golf will visit the Friendly Confines, May 14–16. Standard tee times include a round of golf inside Wrigley Field, a complimentary set of golf balls, a bar with golfing challenges and special ballpark access, with Premium and VIP tee time upgrades also available. All rounds start and end in the American Airlines 1914 Club. Keep an eye on your email inbox in the coming weeks for presale access exclusive to CDGA members.
Beginning with last month’s Players Championship and running through the AIG Women’s Open in August, the 2026 CDGA Fantasy Golf presented by Tour Edge slate consists of seven opportunities for individuals to compete in the free, members-only contest. Prizes will be awarded in each event from the likes of Tour Edge, CDGA member clubs, the CDGA Member Golf Shop, Jersey Mike’s and more. Registration will officially open for the Masters contest on Monday, April 6. Visit CDGA.org/FantasyGolf for more info.
Sign up is open for the Better Through Birdies Par-3 Challenge, scheduled for Saturday, May 16 at Zigfield Troy Golf in Woodridge. The event has raised more than $1 million for the CDGA’s adaptive, therapeutic and youth Sunshine Programs since its inception in 2009. Individuals and two-person teams will raise vital funds for these initiatives by playing as many par-3 holes as possible in three hours. Golfers will encourage their networks to support their efforts by soliciting flat donations or per-birdie pledges. Scan the QR code for more information.
