The library is doubling as an art gallery for this special photography show about older women in the LGBTQ+ community. The women in the portraits grew up when coming out meant risking their health, their jobs, their housing, and their families and friends. In these portraits, they break that silence to be seen as they really are. View the exhibit during open hours throughout the month of March.
Saturday, March 11, 12-1 p.m., Bob Ragland
Hear the story behind the Eye to Eye exhibit of photos on display in the Bob Ragland Branch Library. In this special presentation, the photographer Carey Candrian will talk about what inspired her to take these photographs and the choices she made in who to photograph and how. Then a panel of some of the subjects of the photographs will speak about growing up in a culture that was largely intolerant towards the LGBTQ+ community.
