Ask the branch for this month’s picture book picks to read at home before we meet. We’ll also read one together before discussing the text and art. All ages are welcome, whether you are a grandparent, a teacher, a writer, a beginning reader, or just enjoy picture books. Children are welcome, but you do not need to be with a child to attend.

We will discuss Rising Out of Hatred by Eli Saslow, a compelling biography of a white supremist who experienced a change of heart. This title was chosen in conversation with the play Amerikin from Curious Theatre Company. Registration required at curioustheatre.org/bookclub. You will receive a discount code for the play after you register. Attending the play is encouraged but optional. The discussion will take place after the show in Mamie’s, the theater’s backstage space. Free on street parking along Acoma is available.
