With a stuffed bear named Grahm, Spire is bringing a comfy touch to children and their families.
The bear is the star of Spire’s latest advertising campaign, which focuses on communicating the benefits of natural gas and promoting energy efficiency.
The utility has taken the message a step further. Bearing boxes with the words “Warm Hugs Inside,” Spire employees delivered 1,000 Grahm bears to four pediatric hospitals throughout Missouri and Alabama.
“Normally, the warmth and comfort we deliver is underground, tucked away in pipes you can’t see. In February, we delivered warmth and comfort in a special way,” Steve Lindsey, Spire executive vice president and chief operating officer of distribution operations, told American Gas. “It’s our way of showing how much we care, and it’s a chance for us to spread a little love to children who need it most.”
Spire regularly gives back to the community through Spire Serves, which provides employees with eight hours of paid time to do community service. —Carolyn Kimmel
