After a decade of marriage Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s romance is still the stuff of love songs. The couple celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary on Sept. 10 before returning to Lake Como, Italy—where they got hitched—to mark the milestone occasion with a vow renewal ceremony six days later. “They treated their friends and family to the best weekend. It was magical,” a Teigen source says of the celebratory getaway. “Everything was perfect.”
The weekend festivities kicked off with a carnival-themed welcome party, followed the next day by a multicourse dinner reception at Villa Pizzo, the same venue where Teigen, 37, and Legend, 44, originally said “I do” in 2013, days after a New York City courthouse wedding. The Cravings cookbook author and the Grammy-winning musician arrived by boat in outfits that bucked traditional matrimonial garb: She wore black, while he rocked a white jacket. “It was very romantic,” a second insider says of the fete. “It was breathtaking to see them still so happy together.” The pair greeted guests from a balcony, and Legend later gave a brief speech after dinner. Teigen—who’d previously teased on social media that her “10th anniversary weekend is commmming!!!”—also shared an Instagram photo that featured her sitting atop a piano as Legend serenaded her. “There was dancing, and the lakeside bar was a big favorite,” says an insider. The stars wrapped their romantic weekend with a pool party, plus an outdoor screening of The Godfather the next day.
In March Teigen opened up to People about her lasting marriage to Legend, saying, “We’re in it for the long haul.” As for the over-the-top anniversary festivities? “We have kids that I want to see celebrate our love,” Teigen said at the time. Indeed, daughters Luna, 7, and Esti, 8 months, and sons Miles, 5, and Wren, 3 months, were all involved in the big day, adds the Teigen source. “Lake Como offers extraordinary memories for them,” says the source. “They were so happy to make even more memories with their kids. It was special for them to be part of the wedding anniversary and renewal.” —REPORTING BY PERNILLA CEDENHEIM AND ALINA TRABATTONI
After two and a half years of marriage, rapper Jeezy filed for divorce from The Real host Jeannie Mai Jenkins in Atlanta on Sept. 14. In the court documents Jeezy (né Jay Jenkins), 46, said he and Jeannie, 44—who had a prenuptial agreement—are “currently living in a bona fide state of separation,” and their marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.” Additionally he requested joint legal custody of their 20-month-old daughter Monaco. (He is also dad to two children from previous relationships.) While it remains unclear what led to the split, Jeezy—who started dating Jeannie in 2018 after meeting her while appearing on The Real as a guest—wrote on Instagram the day before the divorce filing became public: “Too focused on who I’m becoming to focus on who’s not coming with me.” —DANIELA AVILA
