Hosts Ree Drummond and Eddie Jackson are back to oversee the action on this favorite series, and you won’t believe what the competitors are baking up in pursuit of the $10,000 prize: One of the challenges is to make a quilt out of cookies!
To get us ready for the show, Ree gave us her easiest-ever recipe for cookies—made with leftover pie dough. We cut them into leaf shapes for Thanksgiving.
Gather your pie dough scraps into a ball and roll out until ¼ inch thick. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters, then arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 350˚ until golden, about 12 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
