headerlineThis year’s Science Week, which took place 13-20 November, saw colleagues all over MSD Ireland getting involved! Running every year since 1995, the national week-long event is supported by Science Foundation Ireland, or SFI, and aims to promote the benefits of learning about science.
Science Week includes a wide variety of events all over the country, involving industry, colleges, schools, libraries, teachers, researchers, and students throughout Ireland. Science Week also has a number of regional festivals offering a range of opportunities for the public to engage with STEM across Ireland.
Science Week 2022, asked people to explore the infinite possibilities of science! To celebrate Science Week at MSD Ireland, colleagues were encouraged to bring some chemistry into their own kitchens and get the family involved in some fun experiments.

In homes all over the country, our winners were cooking up some wonderful and wacky experiments. From turning milk into plastic to creating their very own homemade slushies using salt and ice, they got to explore the wonders of science firsthand!
Each of our lucky winners will receive a €75 voucher to Cogs the Brain Shop, a family-run Irish business that stocks smart and unique toys, puzzles, games and books for children of all ages - perfect for nurturing the growing brains of our budding scientists!
