It was a special moment, and it set the tone for the adventure ahead. Just 20 minutes after landing at Punta Cana International Airport, we arrived at the Sunscape Coco, one of the many resorts that make up Hyattâ€™s Inclusive Collection. As Sun Club guests, we were escorted to the VIP check-in area. Cold soft drinks and snacks were offered as we checked in, a thoughtful touch that made us feel immediately at ease. Afterward, a friendly staff member guided us on a personalized tour of the property while escorting us to our room. This added level of service not only highlighted the resortâ€™s standout amenities but also ensured we felt well-oriented. The resort caters to families with thoughtfully designed amenities, diverse dining options and engaging activities, making it a standout choice for clients traveling with children who are seeking a versatile, cost-conscious all-inclusive experience. Plus, this family-friendly property features adults-only spaces such as the serene Sun Club Adults Lounge, with an adults-only pool and beach access. ROOMAbout Those Accommodations...My nephew and I quickly made ourselves at home in our Sun Club Junior Suite Tropical View accommodation, a comfy and spacious room with a king-sized bed, a large bathroom, a modest-sized closet and a cozy sofa. The private balcony overlooked the adjacent suites and walkways, making people-watching fun. The resort caters to families of all sizes, with 2- and 3-bedroom accommodation options as well as connecting rooms. Furnished balconies or terraces also include partial or full ocean views or pool-view rooms. What made our room particularly memorable were the thoughtful amenities tailored exclusively for Sun Club guests; among these are snacks delivered nightly and an upgraded minibar refreshed daily for adults. Guests in Sun Club accommodations also enjoy exclusive perks like the private check-in we experienced, access to the Sun Club Adults Lounge and a designated beach area with Bali beds that can be reserved. While my nephew and I didnâ€™t spend much time in the roomâ€”thanks to the endless activities around the propertyâ€”it served as the perfect retreat when we needed to recharge.LOUNGEEndless Fun for KidsSunscape Coco truly excels at keeping its youngest guests entertained, including kids like my nephew who has boundless energy. It was almost more than I could keep up with, but watching him have so much fun made it all worth it. The Explorerâ€™s Club, for kids aged 3-12, quickly became his favorite hangout. With its miniature rock climbing wall, video games, foosball table, a dance room with lights and disco ball and outdoor play area, the club offered endless fun under the supervision of Cocoâ€™s attentive staff. For younger children under 5, the resort offers kidsâ€™ kits, babysitting services and childproof spaces, ensuring a safe experience for even the tiniest travelers. Teens arenâ€™t left out either. The Core Zone Teens Club features air hockey, pool, Xbox One, PS4 and even virtual reality headsets. Itâ€™s the perfect spot for older kids to hang out, compete in tournaments or just relax while watching a movie. If my nephewâ€™s excitement is any indication, the propertyâ€™s water slides are an absolute hit with kids of all ages and that includes the adults (who partook in lots of the fun). His boundless enthusiasm was on full display as he raced down the slides, scrambled back up the stairs and repeated the cycle endlessly. The slides are conveniently located near Sharkyâ€™s Bar, which we stopped in at frequently, ordering virgin strawberry daiquiris for my nephew and a few cocktails with a tropical twist for moi. To refuel, we headed to The Shack for a burger from or to The Pizza Shop for a slice. The day ended with him not only thoroughly worn out but also with a few new friends from his adventures. RESTAURANTDining & EntertainmentSunscape Coco offers 12 diverse dining options, including a la carte restaurants featuring Italian, Asian and South American cuisines, as well as buffets, grab-and-go venues and a casual cafe. With the exception of the hibachi experience at Chopsticks, which requires a reservation, the resort offers a reservations-free dining policy, making it easy for clients to enjoy meals on their schedule. Breakfasts at Kaleidoscope were a daily highlight for us, with fresh tropical fruits, made-to-order omelets and both Dominican and American staples like smashed plantains (mofongo) bacon, pancakes and waffles. A standout was Le Petit Chef, a one-of-a-kind dining experience combining gourmet cuisine with 3D table projection mapping. My nephew and the other children on the trip were mesmerized as a playful mini-chef appeared on the table, preparing their meals with whimsical animations. They were amazed when the wait staff brought out the exact dishes theyâ€™d seen projectedâ€”like caprese salad, seafood stew, surf & turf and a decadent chocolate dessert. This interactive dining journey delighted both kids and adults alike, blending storytelling with impeccable flavors. Evenings came alive with entertainment, including vibrant live shows featuring Latin music and dance, as well as relaxing family movie nights under the stars. Sunscape Cocoâ€™s exceptional service stands out, with staff going above and beyond to make our stay seamless, whether accommodating special requests or sharing local tips. The resortâ€™s user-friendly app is a game-changer, keeping us informed about daily activities, dining schedules and on-property events and ensuring we made the most of our stay.
