Innovation is on the agenda as Disney Meetings & Events launches new products and services to transform events into impactful experiences.
With destinations in Florida, California, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Paris and at sea, Disney Meetings & Events is known for creating transformational experiences and it’s now looking to revolutionize the industry even further by truly leaning into its world-renowned artistry and originality.
Known for being on the cutting edge of creativity, now the company is pulling on that rich history of imagination and pioneering event design to build a whole new level of products and services aimed at further enhancing the engagement, connection, networking and inspiration meeting and event attendees are craving in this post-pandemic era.
Teambuilding experiences have become even more important post-pandemic, as organizations struggle to rebuild cohesive work forces in a lingering work-from-anywhere environment.
Disney Meetings & Events partnered with Play with a Purpose to create Disney-inspired teambuilding activities like the Star Wars Galactic Challenge, which is designed to foster team-bonding and networking. More theme-based teambuilding coming soon include a networking event inspired by Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and a creative teambuilding activity inspired by Pixar’s “Toy Story” and “Monsters, Inc.”
They also have introduced an addition to the Disney Culinary Collection called Deliciously Disney. This scalable, ready-to-go networking experience blends culinary delights with entertainment by bringing in the culinary offerings of Walt Disney World Resort’s four theme parks: Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.
These new offerings are also being extended to Disney Cruise Line ships—including soon-to-launch Disney Treasure, coming in December this year, and the Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure in 2025—and other resorts, including Aulani in Hawaii and Disneyland in Southern California. The idea is to help cater to time-starved meeting planners and incentive organizers by integrating business components with leisure experiences, wherever they plan to go on land or sea.
Disney Meetings & Events also is leaning into its team of experienced educators, program designers and producers to offer new general session openers to kick off a meeting with positivity and energy that takes a program to a whole new level. In addition to a Digital Power Entrance, a high-energy musical kickoff that provides a cinematic experience while showcasing the group’s brand, Disney also literally makes the experience sing with its Karaoke Surprise—a Disney twist on karaoke—and Technically Singing, which encourages the audience to participate in a musical introduction of a host or executive.
All this and more will be further enhanced in early 2025, when a reimagined Disney Creative Studio will be unveiled at Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, FL. “The Disney Creative Studio is a differentiator in the industry,” says Amy Pfeiffer, Director of Disney Meetings & Events at Walt Disney World Resort. “It’s an inspirational setting dedicated to helping meeting professionals create the most impactful experiences and events. And it’s rooted in the Disney ethos of creativity, innovation and fun.”
For those who want the feel of a bespoke program with minimal extra work, these plug-and-play options can simplify the planning process—and each of these products are designed to scale up or down to each event organizer’s needs.
However, those who want a more customized approach can lean on the Disney Meetings & Events team of event architects to design, build and execute customized events from the initial request for proposal (RFP) to the event finale, says Pfeiffer. —Sue Pelletier
