Caesars Entertainment has long championed wellness as a core aspect of its corporate social responsibility initiatives. In 2022, the company made significant strides by introducing internal incentives aimed at promoting health and well-being among its employees. This included providing access in Las Vegas to an onsite wellness center with doctors, therapists, a gym, personal trainers, and yoga instructors.
The company’s wellness focus and initiatives inspired Reina Herschdorfer, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for National Meetings & Events at Caesars Entertainment, to roll this out for meeting planners. She recognized the importance of extending wellness options so that planners could easily incorporate these options into their meetings and events programs from wellness nutritionally rich food options and activities like yoga, sound baths and tai chi as well as a wide selection of wellness speakers available now for all Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas properties and to be rolled out for Atlantic City and Reno/Tahoe.
Besides the wellness options for conferences and events, Herschdorfer collaborated with the Heka Health and Maritz to create a wellness challenge for IMEX, a partnership that has spanned more than five years. With the success of the IMEX challenge, in June 2023, Caesars Entertainment decided to expand its reach and launched the First Annual Caesars Global Wellness Challenge in conjunction with Global Wellness Day.
Global Wellness Day takes place every year on the second Saturday of June. The challenge encouraged participants to track their steps using smartphones or activity trackers for the chance to win luxury stays at their properties in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Reno/Tahoe.
The challenge was open to all planners, with the idea to include as many meetings and events professionals as possible, a fun way to focus on wellness for the industry. For this year’s Global Wellness Challenge, visit hekahealth.com/caesarswell24.
Looking ahead, Caesars Entertainment plans to expand wellness initiatives, and taking them on the road to select cities starting in January. According to a recent McKinsey Report, wellness is growing by leaps and bounds driven by Millennials and Gen Z. Incorporating wellness into conferences and events is another great way to engage attendees. As societal interest in wellness grows, Caesars aims to meet the evolving needs of its clients by prioritizing health and well-being.
With Caesars Entertainment at the forefront, the future of wellness in meetings and events looks promising. Stay tuned for more exciting developments!
