Attendees at Prevue’s Next-Gen Engagement Strategies, held May 8 to 10 at Harrah’s Reimagined and CAESARS FORUM, enjoyed a luxe Las Vegas experience reserved for only the luckiest VVIPs, including private Diamond Check-In, spa treatments at Qua Spa, and dinner at two celebrity chef restaurants, Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen and Martha Stewart’s The Bedford.
The Prevue group also had the honor of being the first-ever meeting planner audience for Skip Martin, the Grammy Award-winning lead singer and trumpeter from Kool & the Gang, who has just launched a career as a public speaker. Martin gave an authentic and heartfelt talk about his life lessons, punctuated by a trumpet performance and a video from his “People Get Ready” project. This Zoom video brought together 29 musical legends from R&B, country, rock and gospel—Stevie Wonder, Ray Parker, Jr. and Taylor Dane among them—for a rendition of the Curtis Mayfield song to raise money for St. Jude Research Hospital and to create change during civil unrest and COVID.
Sessions by event guru Edward Perotti, Leah Smiley of the Society for Diversity and Klik’s Will Curran explored how to engage our youngest attendees. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that by 2030, the hyper-connected, tech-savvy Millennial generation will make up 75 percent of the workforce.
A Q&A with Perotti focused on ways to re-create the attendee experience for the youngest generations of attendees, everything from customization to communications. Smiley’s focus was on designing inclusive events, while Curran talked about attendee data and introduced the group to his badge tool, known as Klik. A wellness break with Dami Kim, Director, Body & Brain Wellness, got the audience up on their feet, and she also offered popular 10-minute aura readings for attendees. Each meeting planner also had a chance to sample a personal coaching session with Vimari Roman of Be Productive Coaching.
All in all, the Prevue Summit was a “body, brain and soul event—the future of in person meetings!” said attendee Rachel Milford, Co-Founder/Event Director at Pneuma Lab LLC.
