Mickey’s Toontown: Anchored by the West Coast version of the Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction that’s already a hit at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, the re-imagined Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park will complement the land’s existing favorites (including Mickey’s House, Minnie’s House and Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin) with re-imagined or refurbished attractions (including Gadget’s Go Coaster and Donald’s Boat) and all-new, interactive spaces, from a candy-making contraption inside Goofy’s House to a playful sound garden in Goofy’s How-to-Play Yard. While the re-imagined Mickey’s Toontown is on track to fully open on March 8, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is set to open early as part of the launch of the “Disney 100 Years of Wonder” celebration on Jan. 27.
Avengers Campus: Guests will team up with more Avengers and their allies to battle foes from across the multiverse (including an attraction-exclusive King Thanos) when a third marquee attraction expands the Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park, adding to a land that already includes Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! and WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure.
San Fransokyo: The Pacific Wharf area of Disney California Adventure Park will soon become San Fransokyo, the vibrant city in which East met West and technology met tradition in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Academy Award-winning Big Hero 6. Plans call for offerings for all ages, including new places to shop, eat and meet Baymax, everyone’s favorite personal healthcare companion.
Pixar Place Hotel: Guests will gain a new perspective on some of their favorite Pixar worlds and characters when Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel becomes the artful Pixar Place Hotel.
runDisney returns: While details on dates and registration aren’t available as this edition of Disney Files Magazine hits the press, plans call for runDisney races to return to Disneyland Resort in 2024.
Downtown Disney District: The evolution of the Downtown Disney District that began at Disneyland Resort in 2018 continues as Disney Imagineers draw inspiration from Southern California mid-century modern architecture and international influences. Among the dining destinations set to join the district is Din Tai Fung, a world-renowned Chinese restaurant with roots in Taiwan, and a specialty in soup dumplings and noodles.
Lighthouse Point: This new rendering offers the latest look at concepts in the works for Lighthouse Point, a new Disney Cruise Line destination on the island of Eleuthera featuring a recreation center, dining, shopping, a water playground, a cultural pavilion and more. Disney has committed to developing less than 20 percent of the property, supply 90 percent of the site’s power from solar energy, employ sustainable building practices and donate more than 190 acres of privately owned land to the government.
Disney Treasure: The sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, Disney Treasure, is scheduled for delivery in 2024. Inspired by Walt Disney’s love of exploration and paving the way for epic experiences that’ll immerse guests in some of the company’s most legendary stories, the ship will feature a Grand Hall influenced by design styles from Asia and Africa, with numerous nods to the fictional land of Agrabah, including a shining, shimmering, splendid statue of Aladdin, Jasmine and Magic Carpet.
