Disney Imagineers and a talented team of industry experts are busy bringing Disney’s legacy of placemaking and attention to detail to Cotino, a new Storyliving by Disney community in Rancho Mirage, Calif. (part of the greater Palm Springs area).
This grand desert setting has, for centuries, ignited the imaginations of many celebrated storytellers, including Walt Disney. Shea Homes, Davidson Communities and Woodbridge Pacific Group will release home sites throughout 2024 with some specifically designated for those ages 55 or older and others available to home buyers of all ages. The community has plans for more than 1,900 total residences, including single-family homes and in the future, condominiums.
Cotino will be the first Storyliving by Disney community in the U.S., followed by the recently announced Asteria community in North Carolina.

A peek at a Princess: Walt Disney Imagineering recently shared a sneak peek at the first-ever Princess Tiana Audio-Animatronic figure, which will debut this summer in the highly anticipated Tiana's Bayou Adventure attraction at Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort. (The attraction will open at a later date at Disneyland Park.) The thrilling attraction will feature dozens of new Audio-Animatronic figures, with Louis, Mama Odie, Eudora, Charlotte and Prince Naveen among the familar faces from Walt Disney Animation Studios' The Princess and the Frog, along with new bayou friends created for the attraction, including an otter, a rabbit, a racoon, a beaver, a turtle and more.
Welcome home Corra: For the first time in seven years, an African elephant calf has been born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park at Walt Disney World Resort. The December delivery of the baby girl, named Corra, was carefully planned through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Species Survival Plan, which helps ensure the responsible breeding of endangered animals in managed care. As the baby's mother, Nadirah, also was born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Corra is the first second generation calf to be born in the park. Nadirah became pregnant through natural breeding in early 2022, receiving special care from Disney’s animal care team during her nearly 22-month pregnancy.
