Two passionate golf families have come together to return Buffalo Creek Golf Club to one of the finest public golf experiences in North Texas. The Perry Family, its original owners, recently reassumed full oversight of the facility after nearly 30 years. They have partnered with KemperSports, a family-owned management company, to enhance golf course conditions and deliver exceptional golf experiences. The Weiskopf & Morrish championship layout includes world-class practice facilities and instruction. Buffalo Creek also boasts event amenities, including a pavilion, to complement the friendly customer service.
“We are very excited to collaborate with KemperSports,” said Kevin McCollum, who represents the Perry Family. “Our goal is to make Buffalo Creek Golf Club a successful and integral part of the local community and reestablish the club as a must play in Dallas-Fort Worth. We couldn’t have chosen a better partner in KemperSports to set us on the path to become the leading club in our area.”
KemperSports and the Perry Family wasted no time making upgrades to elevate the golf experience at Buffalo Creek.
“Players can look forward to a significant improvement of course conditions and playability, a new fleet of state of the art EZGO RXV golf carts and award-winning customer service that guests of Buffalo Creek became accustomed to back in the original days of the club,” said Val D’Souza, VP of Operations for KemperSports. “Also, Seth Glasco, our new Director of Instruction at Buffalo Creek, will offer programs to golfers of all ages and skill levels. Our vision is to make Buffalo Creek the best place to go for learning, enhancing and enjoying our wonderful game.”
Located just 30 minutes east of downtown Dallas, Buffalo Creek was designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish and opened for play in 1992. The architectural duo took advantage of the rolling terrain and natural beauty to create a modern classic that features an intriguing mix of long and short holes, numerous risk-reward opportunities and large, undulating green complexes. With several sets of tee boxes, ranging in length from 5,209 to 7,078 yards, Buffalo Creek is an immensely enjoyable experience that can be challenging enough for low handicappers and forgiving enough for beginners.
In addition to enhancing the player experience at Buffalo Creek, KemperSports also plans to launch a number of events that will engage the entire neighborhood.
“We want to take advantage of Buffalo Creek’s natural beauty and scenic views from the clubhouse to create non-golf events such as trivia dinners, game night on the lawn and other social gatherings to bring the community together for fun and entertainment,” D’Souza said.
The Perry Family and KemperSports are committed to the long-term success of Buffalo Creek. Together, they are working on facility improvements, customer satisfaction and creative ways to connect with the community so that Buffalo Creek will be a welcoming destination not only for area residents, but also for all who love the game.
