TGA partners with Youth on Course to announce expansion to the San Antonio region.

February

The 111th Texas Am entries open; tournament will be contested at Boot Ranch in Fredericksburg.

Leslie Henry is named new TGA President.

March

First COVID-19 Announcement of suspended activities as a result of the pandemic.

Six Legends Junior Tour alumni named to Team USA for the 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup.

April

The Coronavirus crisis continues, extending the suspension of TGA activities through May.

TGA presents a heartfelt appreciation to TGA Volunteers.

May

Golfers share how they stayed connected to golf during the quarantine.

TGA partners with the Spirit Golf Association to raise money for the Houston Food Bank to assist those affected by COVID-19.

June

LJT is set to host its first championship since early March, with many precautions taken for the Veritex Bank Byron Nelson Junior Championship.

July

TGA Members volunteer at the Houston Food Bank to help those affected by the pandemic.

With established safety protocols in place, Women’s Championships return to action and Austin’s Bentley Cotton wins the 99th Women’s Texas Amateur.

The TGA acknowledges Supers and grounds crews for all their hard work to keep courses in amazing shape during the pandemic, as the golf industry reports record-breaking numbers of rounds played.

August

The TGA Foundation donates $1,000 to the Piney Woods LPGA/USGA Girls Golf Program in Longview.

Baylor freshmen Trey Bosco is crowned the 111th Texas Amateur Champion.

Longtime TGA director and past president, Jim Brown, is awarded the Bob Wells Distinguished Service Award.

September

The TGA announces a slate of new competitive tournaments for men and women across the state.

TGA’s Fun Golf program prepares for its most “FUN” event of the year, the Texas Shamble.

The TGA pays homage in a video tribute to all Superintendents and grounds crews on #ThankASuperDay.

October

Ryan O'Rear captures the 37th Texas Mid-Amateur during a sudden-death playoff.

November

The TGA shares the results of members’ Top 10 Texas Courses Bucket List survey and announces survey winner of free golf for two at an upcoming Fun Golf Play Day.

TGA’s Fun Golf Series opens entries for #GivingTuesday, a multi-course fundraising event with all proceeds going toward the TGA Foundation.

December

The TGA celebrates Texas’ very own Angela Stanford’s victorious finish at the Volunteers of America Classic.

The long-awaited 2020 U.S. Women’s Open Championship kicks into full gear at the Champions Golf Club in Houston as we celebrate #WomenWorthWatching.
