Set on hundreds of acres in the Texas Hill Country, Tapatio Springs Resort offers a private sanctuary perfect for a relaxing escape. Whether that’s lounging by the pool, taking a trip to the resort’s cleansing salt cave and spa or teeing off on the beautiful golf course that rolls through the rugged landscape, Tapatio Springs Resort has something for everyone.
Sounds incredible, right? Well, we have some great news for you. The TGA is conducting a raffle from which two lucky people will win FREE weekend vacations at the scenic resort.
Better still, all proceeds from the raffle will support the various growing-the-game initiatives under the TGA Foundation: Youth on Course, Bill Penn Internship Program, Winners’ Program and the Doris Kallina/’Nez Muhleman Scholarship.
Entering the raffle – it’s just $20 per ticket – gives you a chance to win one of two VIP packages to Tapatio Springs Resort. Either package ensures a spectacular vacation for you and your guests, and who doesn’t love the idea of a free getaway?
Packages:
· One night in the George Strait Suite and one round of golf for four people
· Two nights in a Traditional Suite with one round of golf for two people
The TGA has hosted numerous tournaments at Tapatio Springs in the past and with a recent makeover to the tune of $2 million, the course earned the 2015 title of “No. 1 Most Improved Public Golf Course in the Country” by Golf Inc. Magazine. Managing Director of Foundation and Outreach Kelly Kilgo said the new renovations highlight the resort’s best features.
“It’s a spectacular golf course, with a brand-new club house and practice facility,” Kilgo said. “They really do everything right and it’s just a great place to go stay and play.”
For $20 per raffle ticket and some good luck, you could be headed to Boerne to explore what all Tapatio Springs Resort and the vast Hill Country has to offer.
With prizes like these, totaling around $2,800 for both packages, anyone would be eager to participate. Lucky for you, there’s no waiting. Tickets are now being sold and the window will close 4 p.m. on Nov. 4. The winners of these spectacular prizes will be chosen via a random drawing on Nov. 5, and the video will be posted to the TGA website.
Among the programs supported by the raffle, Youth on Course (YOC) was founded by the Northern California Golf Association in 2006. The TGA Foundation launched its program in January 2020 starting in San Antonio. YOC seeks to lessen the financial burden golf can present, offering membership to junior golfers for just $20 per year. This membership allows access to participating golf courses around the country for a green fee of $5 or less.
The Bill Penn Internship Program connects high school golfers with paid summer internships at TGA Member Clubs. Working alongside golf industry professionals, who also serve as mentors, interns gain valuable experience in various areas of club operations. The program allows interns to develop professional skills and networking connections for future careers in golf. As part of the program, interns are provided with golf lessons and the opportunity to play at designated times.
Partnering with the LPGA/USGA Girls Golf of Texas Chapters, the TGA Foundation promotes achievement on the course and in the classroom with the Winners’ Program. Founded in 2008, the Winners’ Program encourages young girls to make good grades and turn in report cards to the program throughout the school year.
The Winners’ Program is coupled with the Wiesner’s Winners Program and awards prizes at each LPGA/USGA Girls Golf site to exceptional players. The Toni Wiesner Cup is awarded to the winning team at the annual Texas Challenge, a statewide competition between different LPGA/USGA Girls Golf chapters. These programs commemorate the late Toni Wiesner, a Texas Golf Hall of Famer who was dedicated to the game of golf and giving back through her service with the WTGA and on the USGA Girls’ Junior Committee.
Doris Kallina and ‘Nez Muhleman both devoted countless hours to promoting and advancing women’s golf in Texas and also served various roles with the WTGA and USGA. The Doris Kallina/’Nez Muhleman Scholarship honors these women by awarding a scholarship every four years to a girl golfer who plans to attend college.
Each TGA Foundation program benefits young golfers and assists them in pursuing future golf and academic goals. Generous golfers and golf fans like you help support these worthy programs through donations and special events, such as the Tapatio Springs Resort raffle.
