Summer is here and as temperatures continue to creep ever higher, the TGA plans to offer some relief in the form of adding more Play Days to its Fun Golf Series presented by PGA TOUR Superstore. Now in its seventh year of giving casual golfers opportunities to play exciting courses at discounted rates, this year’s schedule is one of the best yet.
Among the Fun Golf venues for this summer are Riverhill Country Club, a world-class championship course designed by the legendary Byron Nelson and Joe Finger in 1974; White Bluff Resort’s Old Course, a scenic track designed by Bruce Lietkze in 1992; and the Rawls Course, a West Texas masterpiece designed by renowned architect Tom Doak in 2003.
“Our 2021 Fun Golf Series consists of events all across Texas, which offers golfers the opportunity to play close to home, travel to new places or even meet up with friends in different parts of the state to play golf for fun,” said Victoria Uresti, TGA Foundation Programs Manager. “July will be a fun month with three play days across Texas, and I look forward to seeing everyone there!”
Each Fun Golf Series event features an optional, low-key tournament to sign up for with inclusive formats suitable for all ages and skill levels. Players are flighted based on gender and handicap, with prizes awarded in gross and net divisions. Participation in the competition is never mandatory and neither is turning in a scorecard. Anyone who signs up for a Fun Golf event is welcome to come out and just enjoy playing a relaxing round on a great course.
