The number of scores posted under the World Handicap System™ (WHS) in 2024 by the 3.35 million golfers in the U.S. who maintained a Handicap Index®, according to the United States Golf Association (USGA). This was up 1.77 million (2.3%) from 2023 and up 6.23 million (8.8%) compared to 2020, the year when the WHS was first introduced.
Additionally, the USGA reports that the 3.35 million golfers in the U.S. who maintained a Handicap Index in 2024 was up 200,000 (6.3%) from 2023 and up 750,000 (28.8%) since 2020.
