In Texas everything truly is bigger. The geographic area, the food, the trucks. You name it, it’s bigger here.
In golf, so too are the Major Championships. Everybody gets up for the big events. For some, a Major Championship means an opportunity to etch their name into golf history. For others, it serves as a chance to prove they belong with the elite. And for all, majors mean a chance to test their skills against some of the best courses in golf.
Competing in TGA Majors requires persistence and patience. Take it from Austyn Reily, last year’s 112th Texas Amateur champion at Midland Country Club. Reily was six strokes back of the lead after the first round. Or take it from last summer’s Texas Mid-Amateur champion Freddie Janneck, who ended the first day at The Club at Houston Oaks eight strokes off the pace.
The 2022 Major Championship venues for the TGA will showcase a variety of courses across the state. They will provide instant classics, thrilling victories, and countless memories. Each course will challenge the competitors in a different way and crown worthy champions.
