If you’re looking to jump start your game or fine tune your swing, look no further than the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Clinic Series, kicking off its 29th season in 2019. Led by PGA and LPGA certified teaching professionals with a maximum ratio of eight women to one instructor, this nationwide, women-centric series welcomes golfers of all skill levels with a mission to empower women through the game of golf.
“It’s relaxed but focused,†says Jane Blalock, CEO of the program since 1990 and a 29-time LPGA Tour Champion. “Beginners will not be intimidated, and advanced golfers will appreciate the respect and attention given to their experience and prowess. Women leave the day feeling inspired and energized, ready to accept invitations and invite others to join them on the golf course.â€
Held in major markets across the U.S. – including in Dallas on Oct. 14 at Las Colinas CC – each Clinic welcomes approximately 96-120 executive women, entrepreneurs and industry leaders, generating an annual attendance of nearly 1,500 women. Over 40,000 women have attended since the program’s inception with dozens of blue-chip companies routinely sponsoring the program and sending their top associates, customers and clients.
“We’re certain that these clinics will inspire so many more women to play golf.â€

In addition to personalized instruction through specialized skills stations and on-course play, attendees are taught many aspects of social and business golf during a robust schedule that includes plenty of peer-to-peer, b-to-b and b-to-c interaction, a keynote speaker, breakfast, lunch, and a networking reception to cap off the program.
“Our goal is to deliver amazing golf experiences to all women that attend our KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Golf Clinics,†adds Suzy Whaley, President of the PGA of America. “By empowering women with the tools needed to play and manage their games, we’re certain that these clinics will inspire so many more women to play golf.â€
The day begins at 7:45 a.m. at the bag drop, where participants leave their clubs or get assigned access to a set for the day. They move inside to register and collect their nametags, notebooks and table assignments and then head to breakfast to meet their teaching professionals.
Following a brief morning speaking program, less experienced players are led by their instructors through each of three skills stations – putting, short game and long game – while intermediate to advanced golfers play a few holes on the course with their instructors. Everyone regroups for lunch followed by a 15-minute professional swing exhibition and Q&A session.
The afternoon session is a reverse of the morning – beginners take to the course while more experienced players rotate through the skills stations. At 4 p.m., participants gather in the clubhouse for a networking reception; each receives a premium gift bag. Selfies and group pics are shared liberally via the Clinic’s free app.
“The buzz at the end of the day is incredible,†said Blalock, smiling. “Confidence is at an all-time high, and that’s when you know the program works. It is definitely a game-changer.â€
