It will also provide attendees with a methodology to physically, mentally, and emotionally deescalate students following each scenario prior to leaving the range and readying them for the world outside the scenario training facility. This class will provide attendees with information on how adult learning affects performance, and tips and techniques to help coach, mentor, teach, and instruct students.
The Training Triangle: Training Facilities to Provide Comprehensive Use-of-Force Training
Lido 3104-3106 | LE13
Today’s LEOs face greater challenges than ever as they attempt to do their jobs while being met with increased scrutiny and evolving technology, often facing people ready and willing to serve as instant judge and jury in use-of-force situations. In order to train officers for use-of-force incidents, instructors must not only train them on the mechanics of weapons but also train them on when to use them and when to use other means. This involves the “Training Triangle” facility design. The classroom, range and simulated environment form three points of a triangle that is crucial to developing a complete training opportunity. This course will cover the use of each of these facilities, best practices and shortfalls of each that are made up by the others, to help trainers and instructors prepare officers.
