My columns usually refer to pressing issues of HR services and technology or the macro market. Today, I am going to talk about HRO Today and the mutual partnership with our readers and why a subscription to our platform benefits you, independent journalism, and the HR community in general.
According to our most recent reader survey, HRO Today holds an esteemed position in the catalog of publications consumed by the most senior levels of HR. We have spent decades ascending to the level of acceptance and trust that we enjoy. Our readers place over 90% credibility in what we publish. Our audience recognizes not only that we are not pay to play, but also that the data sets and recommendations they receive via the Baker’s Dozen rankings and our editorial features are done with the highest standards of editorial integrity.
We have found ways to monetize the various features in the magazine via advertising and event sponsorship; however, we have seen some of that revenue stream shift. Part of that is due to the level of economic uncertainty that has afflicted the labor markets and seen hiring levels drop. We are sensitive to the talent acquisition market activities. But, we also do not want to be reliant on the provider community to the point where we are pressured about what we publish. This already happens unfortunately and far too often. We resist that pressure and that is why we have such high credibility. Our goal through the subscription model is to make you, the reader, our partner in maintaining our standards.
Why should that matter to you? We bring you features and information critically important to staying abreast of the most pressing matters in HR. We bring you the executive perspective not only about what just happened, but also about what you need to prepare to meet coming challenges. We are not sending you updates on regulations; you all have law firms that do that. We are keeping you informed on the strategic implications of current events and the strategic initiatives you need to think about next. If your staff also reads HRO Today, we can help you get them into the mindset of strategic thinking and make them better partners to you in pursuing the big ideas that will be the future of HR.
The subscription program at HRO Today will give you access to our valuable archives for research, the Baker’s Dozen archive, our premium content, and our video library of training content that is already certified for continuing education credits. There is a current offer for year end to subscribe for $74.99 for the year. That is less per month than a Starbucks coffee. Granted, a subscription will give less of a caffeine kick than coffee, but you will have great clarity on the HR issues when the caffeine gets metabolized.
We need and want your support and know you will respond as we have a great reading audience. Please consider some of our group programs as well to offer this access to our educational and topical content to the other HR leaders in your organization. Thank you as always for your support and Happy Holidays from HRO Today.
