At last year's Scone Palace Garden Fair, we ran a seed swap in the Scotland Grows' tent and what a lot of seed swapping went on!
Visitors brought seeds that they knew would never be sown and exchanged them for varieties that they fancied trying out. Some people brought piles of seed packets along (we are talking carrier bags full) and wanted none in return, they simply wanted to see them sown by others: the kindness and generosity of Scotland gardening community can never be underestimated.
So this year, on 31st May and 1st June 2024, we are doing it all over again with another seed swap where you can bring along those packets of seeds that you know will never be used in your garden or allotment, and swap them in the Scotland Grows' tent for old favourites or new varieties in which you might be interested. It's a win-win for for everyone!
And as if that wasn't enough, we're doubling down on reusing and passing on gardening knowledge by adding a gardening book swap to this year's mix so please feel free to have a clear out of old gardening books, bring them along to the Scotland Grows' tent and either swap them for another book you fancy, or leave them for someone else to pick up and enjoy!
Come and join us in recycling seeds and books to share the gardening love with your fellow gardeners across Scotland at Scone Palace Garden Fair on 31st May and 1st June 2024.
