Forget the to-do list and focus on #onegardenthing that gets you outside, and maybe gives you a sense of achievement, or a sense of joy, or just allows you to feel sun, wind, or rain on your face - focussing on one thing may just be enough for today.
So set your watch or phone for 15 minutes and choose one thing to get you outside.
Grab a brush and sweep one small area be that a patio or a deck. You will see the difference you can make in just a quarter of an hour.
If daffodils or other spring bulbs have finished flowering, take a walk around the garden and nip off the spent flower heads between your finger and thumb. The bulb will thank you for helping to conserve its energy and the garden will look tidier in just a quarter of an hour.
Take out a bucket of soapy water and a cloth and wash the outside of as many garden containers as you can in 15 minutes, washing away all that build-up of dust and dirt over the winter months.
The practice of walking barefoot on grass is called grounding or earthing. The Earth is full of potent energy and when there is a barefoot contact, free electrons from the Earth can be absorbed by our body. When you walk barefoot on grass, the level of endorphins, those feel-good hormones in your body, increases. Research also shows that walking barefoot on grass helps to decrease stress level by 62 percent.
You do not always have to have a task to do. Just grab your tea or coffee and sit and enjoy the outside world for 15 minutes, whether perched on the back doorstep or in the shed with the door open.
Focus on #onegardenthing to lose yourself in for 15 minutes - it will do you the world of good!
