Eaton and RPI have completed a 3-D development project to create a customizable luminaire with custom optics that can be tailored for specified application spaces. The luminaire is 60% lighter than existing high bay fixtures and provides 150 to 200 lumens per watt—all using additive manufacturing.
TM-40-24 Technical Memorandum: IES Method for Determining Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) and Distance from the Plankian Locus of Light Sources is a new document that provides a standardized method for accurately calculating CCT and Duv values.
ANSI/IES TM-32-24 Technical Memorandum: Lighting Parameters for Building Information Modeling is a substantially revised technical memorandum that standardizes parameters for use in luminaire BIM content with the goal of mitigating synchronization issues and facilitating lighting professionals’ project needs.
RP-8-24 Recommended Practice: Lighting Roadway and Parking Facilities is a revised lighting standard that provides expanded guidance on applications including lighting for roundabouts, intersections, crosswalks, cul-de-sacs, electric-vehicle charging stations and recommendations for avoiding and mitigating obtrusive light.
ANSI/IES RP-46 Recommended Practice: Supporting the Physiological and Behavioral Effect of Lighting in Daytime Environments is a critical new standard that recommends translation of the basic science of how light affects visual, circadian, neuroendocrine and neurobehavioral responses in daytime interior environments, such as those found in schools and offices.
ParSpec’s Product Finder tool was recognized this year as a line extension to its 2022 submission. The ParSpec Product Finder is the first and only design tool in the lighting industry that monitors over 1,600 manufacturer websites to pull live datasheets for specification documents. ParSpec’s proprietary AI models utilize both manual and automated criteria, confirmed by the user, to suggest the solutions that meet specific lighting project requirements.
