PERFECT DRIVE
The par-4 17th hole at Old Oaks Country Club is the most demanding hole on the golf course. At 465 yards from the back tee, it plays 35 yards longer up the hill. The tee shot must navigate right and left fairway bunkers and a narrow fairway. The second shot plays 20 yards longer up the hill off a lie above the player’s feet with out of bounds on the right. There are also two greenside bunkers right and left, and a false front. Any ball that comes up short of this green will roll back down the fairway 15 to 30 yards. The green is relatively flat, but it does have a narrow spine down the left center, and any hole location that’s in the front or left side of this green can wreak havoc with a player's putting. A par on this hole is an amazing score and is well earned.
