FROM THE PRESIDENT
Greg Adamson
My two years as president of the LTEN Board of Directors have gone lightning fast. It seems like the journey started yesterday, and now it’s wrapping up.
With the transition to a new leader coming, people have asked me what one thing stands out the most and I always answer, “evolution.”
Our industry has a continuous need to change – there routinely are new products, new services, new disease states and increased supply chain challenges. As leaders of life sciences learning and development (L&D) departments, we have evolved our curricula to be hybrid and, in some cases, completely virtual offerings. Now we are moving toward involving artificial intelligence tools, which in some cases are outpacing our IT departments.
If you are afraid of change, the training department is most likely not for you. The same could be said for LTEN.
Over the past two years, LTEN has changed and grown, under the leadership of our executive director, Lauren Harbert. When Lauren stepped into the role, she managed to make my job easier every day.
We’ve also seen a change in the important events director role, with Nadia Aboulhouda joining the team to help produce the LTEN Annual Conference. As you saw last year, the conference already looks and feels different, and there’s additional changes coming this July in Colorado (spoiler alert).
We’ve also welcomed Cayme Momita in the new role of special projects coordinator, and she’s already added considerable value to LTEN.
The Board of Directors has also seen a renaissance of newly elected members these past two years. New members have helped ensure the board represents all facets of life sciences training, and each of these leaders has already made profound contributions.
Joining the board during my term were:
Kristy Callahan, USCAN learning leader executive for GE Healthcare.
Mani Chidambaram, global head of commercial training for Sanofi.
Brian Groves, a seasoned training executive.
Charlie Kirk, senior director of sales force effectiveness for Argenx.
Jessica Knox, CEO of Metrix Group.
Melissa Lowe, director of enterprise education, enablement and leadership development for Philips Health Care North America.
Courtney Michener Miller, head of commercial learning for AstraZeneca.
Jenn Muszik, senior director, commercial learning and leadership development, for Alkermes.
Jim Page, executive director, customer engagement skills, for Novartis.
Brittany Pilcher, director of oncology business division training and development for Daiichi Sankyo.
Ted Power, senior vice president, strategy and marketing, for RLDatix Life Sciences.
Soon a newly elected president will assume responsibility and lead us onto the path of our next evolution. You’ll hear more about the new leader soon. Better yet, plan to get involved.
Our network will continue to evolve and opportunities for additional participation abound. As we complete our 2025 goals, consider adding one or more of the following to your LTEN membership experience:
Attend an LTEN mixer, either in person or virtually.
Attend the LTEN Annual Conference, taking place July 28-31 in Aurora, Colo.
Write an article for LTEN Focus on Training magazine.
Consider speaking on an LTEN webinar to share your experience and knowledge with your LTEN colleagues.
If you lead a department, attend the LTEN Learning Executive Forum, our premier invitationonly think tank.
Sign up and attend a Partner Preview, a lunch and learn capabilities presentation by one of our Preferred Industry Partners.
Sharpen your skills with an LTEN certificate program, like our metrics workshop, the PrimeTime courses or the 6Ds session.
Once again, it’s been a great two trips around the sun, and I appreciate the support and friendship from my LTEN colleagues. I’ll still be an active member of the LTEN Board of Directors, and I look forward to continuing to guide our network’s evolution.
Special thanks to all members of LTEN for your involvement and strong support. Keep up the good work!
