Hello LTEN community, and happy February! As we move through the heart of winter, February often reminds us of transitions — the days grow a bit longer, and we look ahead to the promise of spring.
This month, LTEN is also in a time of transition, as we acknowledge the conclusion of Greg Adamson’s term as president of the LTEN Board of Directors and celebrate his many accomplishments. Greg’s term will officially conclude in mid-February, and shortly thereafter, we will introduce a new LTEN president to lead us into our next exciting chapter.
Greg has been an extraordinary leader and advocate for LTEN, throughout his more than 15 years as a member and especially during his tenure as president. Under his guidance, LTEN has experienced remarkable growth and innovation, shaping our organization’s future in meaningful ways.
During Greg’s tenure, LTEN transitioned our LTEN Focus on Training magazine from a quarterly to a monthly digital publication, providing members with timely, high-value content throughout the year. The Learning Executive Series also evolved during his presidency, expanding from a single annual forum to a comprehensive year-long series of events designed to engage and inspire.
The LTEN Annual Conference continued to thrive under Greg’s leadership, introducing new opportunities and experiences to enhance the attendee journey. From interactive technology demos and a dedicated new attendee lounge to walking tours and the inaugural “AI Day” at the 2024 conference, the event has grown in scope and relevance.
Membership also has steadily increased, with a more diverse representation of both member organizations and industry partners, reflecting LTEN’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity and growth.
Beyond these advancements, Greg’s impact has been deeply rooted in strategic vision. During his presidency, LTEN reevaluated its strategic pillars, resulting in targeted investments that will benefit members for years to come. These include:
Adopting new association management software.
Enhancing our website to streamline member services.
Reestablishing a valuable partnership with TGaS Advisors to deliver the 2024 Landscape Study.
Revitalizing the eLearning Lounge with updated modules now hosted on our proprietary LMS.
For me personally, Greg’s leadership has been both inspiring and supportive. He stepped into the LTEN board president role at the same time I began my journey as executive director. Over the past two years, Greg has been a trusted mentor, providing wisdom and encouragement as I navigated this exciting and demanding role. Greg’s thoughtful guidance and keen insights have greatly influenced the LTEN community, the LTEN Board and staff.
As we thank Greg for his incredible contributions, we also look forward to what lies ahead under the guidance of our next board president. Stay tuned for the announcement in the coming weeks as we usher in a new era of growth and innovation for LTEN.
Thank you, Greg, for your outstanding leadership and dedication to our community. Because of you, LTEN is stronger, more connected and better positioned to achieve our shared mission.
Here’s to a wonderful February and to the exciting opportunities that await LTEN “NEXT” in 2025!
