Dear Editor,
Congratulations for an incredible inaugural issue of the IEEE Electron Devices Magazine. I read it from cover to cover and found it to be inspirational, educational, and interesting. All of the articles were solid, but especially pleasing was reading about the quest of the students from the University of Illinois to recreate the Bardeen and Brattain prototype. It was a great reminder of the need for inventive experimentalists to bring theory into reality. John Cressler’s commentary was lively and engaging, and several of the others were evocative of a time that many of us lived through. My expectations are raised, and I am expecting many more issues like this one.

Dear Joachim,
Congratulations to you on the publication of the EDS magazine and as the founding editor-in-chief! I started reading the articles and found them to be very well written and at times entertaining. I plan to finish reading it cover to cover before the end of this summer.
