Garrett Leight California Optical partnered with FootJoy to create a limited series of sunglasses and footwear that bridges high-performance golf wear with an easygoing Southern California lifestyle.
Fronting the collaboration is a collection of classic Premiere Series golf shoes with custom tortoise accents for men and women. Three limited-edition styles are available but running out fast, including the men’s Tarlow and Packard as well as a cap-toe option for women. Paired with the shoes is a unique sunglass offering from GLCO’s Spring Summer ’22 collection, Elkgrove Sun.
The Packard is a featherlight, saddle-shoe design featuring hand-selected Pittards of England soft full grain, waterproof leather uppers accentuated by a bold tortoise-print banded saddle. Other features include full leather linings, a suede heel pocket, plush co-branded GLCO x FJ OrthoLite FitBed with molded heel cup and the VersaTrax+ outsole for traction and performance.
The Tarlow boasts a “rakish golf style” preferred by Justin Thomas, Ian Poulter and Billy Horschel. The cap-toe design features premium leather, calfskin details and the VersaTrax+ outsole configuration. The signature GLCO patent-leather tortoise print runs the length of the eye stay and around the heel.
A similar minimalist and modern cap-toe design is available for women. The Women’s Premiere Series shoes feature comfortable waterproof leather uppers, meticulous stitch details, a molded FitBed created specifically for women and the VersaTrax+ outsole. The patent-leather tortoise print runs across the top line.
A unique colorway of the Elkgrove Sun glasses, inspired by Chi Chi Rodriguez, features ’60s-style contoured temples, deep square lens, a larger and slightly oversized frame and a distinctive browline. The frame has a matching Georgia tortoise temple with a G15 lens and gold metal plating.
“I’m looking forward to blending the golf world with our laid-back and classic Southern California lifestyle,” Garrett Leight said. “Our two brands share a commitment for comfort, style, and undisputed quality.”
