For Forme, a science-driven, wellness technology company, T-shirts and polo shirts are more than simple items of clothing. Products from this concern are true training tools for athletes, golfers among them, and are designed to help them improve neck and spinal alignment, correct posture, encourage recovery and improve breathing for “increased oxygenation intake.”
Founded by celebrated orthopedic surgeon Stephen Liu and made to be used as much by non-athletes who are worn down from spending too much time at their desks, Forme calls its products “wearable therapeutics.” Players such as Harold Varner III sing their praises.
“I wear the shirt when I am flying from event to event and when I am training,” said Varner. “Sometimes, I even sleep in it. The biggest difference I see in my body is good posture from wearing the shirt.”
Jared Wolfe, who is exempt on the PGA Tour for 2022, is also a fan.
“The shirt provides instant feedback,” he said. “I can feel my neck relax and all the tension on my neck and back disappear.”
Forme’s primary offering is the Core Tee, which is designed to instantly pull a person’s shoulders down and back to adjust posture and stance for what company officials say is “optimal form, comfort and breathing.” Nothing more needs to be done than simply slipping on the shirt, they say, and from there it “trains and nurtures your body’s alignment, giving you posture that allows you to perform … while enhancing the fundamental basics of your biomechanics so that you can make the most use of your body.”
A newer offering from Forme is the Ace Polo, which is designed to do much the same thing as the Core Tee, but in a more elegantly styled piece of apparel.
