By Lisa Goulian Twiste
Founded in Vaxjo, Sweden, in 1990, Galvin Green entered the U.S. golf market in 2013 as the first high-tech outerwear company to promote a multi-layering concept of dry comfort, thermal regulation and outer protection for optimized performance on the course – particularly in some of the most demanding weather conditions.
Over a decade later, the brand continues to gain traction in golf shops. Galvin Green emphasizes game-changing technologies that can help golfers play their best throughout the year, a commitment to sustainability both in products and the supply chain, and a streamlined women’s line designed to create as many outfits as possible using as few garments as necessary.
Lou Delfino, General Manager for North America, explains how Galvin Green is helping PGA of America Professionals bring this message of extreme performance, comfort and versatility to golfers across the country.
1 What does Galvin Green bring to the U.S. marketplace that separates it from other brands?
Lou Delfino: Galvin Green brings a distinct combination of technical innovation, Scandinavian design and a laser-sharp focus on golf. Unlike broader lifestyle brands, we are fully dedicated to enhancing the golfer’s experience, especially in demanding weather conditions. Our multi-layer system, commitment to sustainable materials and premium product craftsmanship allow us to deliver apparel that performs on the course while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic. It’s this blend of function and form that sets us apart.
2 What is the most important technology in Galvin Green's 2025 lineup?
Delfino: Galvin Green’s 2025 lineup is defined by two key innovations, each pushing the boundaries of performance and comfort in its own way. First, the new ultra-lightweight INTERFACE-1 jackets – Larry and Lilly – represent significant innovation in our 2025 range. Weighing in at just 113 grams, they feature our lightest windproof and water-resistant fabric to date, engineered to provide wind resistance and exceptional packability in a sleek, minimal design. Ideal for layering, these jackets are perfect for golfers who demand lightweight comfort without compromising performance.
Secondly, the GORE-TEX ePE membrane marks a major leap forward in sustainable performance. It’s our first-ever lined GORE-TEX material made without PFAS, delivering the same trusted waterproof, windproof and breathable protection – now with a significantly lower environmental impact. This innovative material is featured in two jackets, Aston for men and Ava for women, and two pants, Aron for men and April for women.
Together, these technologies reflect our commitment to supporting the modern golfer through cutting-edge innovation, intelligent design and responsible manufacturing.
3 How is the company working with golf shops to get its message across to consumers?
Delfino: We collaborate closely with golf shops through product training and strong storytelling that connects golfers to the purpose behind each garment. From point-of-sale visuals to seasonal campaigns, we support our retail partners in delivering a consistent, premium brand experience. By equipping staff with the right knowledge and tools, we help them not only sell product but communicate the “why” behind it – from sustainability to performance.
4 How committed is Galvin Green to sustainability, and what’s the latest?
Delfino: Over the past three years, we have dedicated significant effort to responsibly managing the chemical content throughout our entire product range. Our priority has been to ensure that all fabrics and trims – including zippers, buttons and other details – are completely free from hazardous and harmful chemicals. This commitment is part of our broader promise to deliver safe and sustainable products for both our customers and the environment.
At the same time, we have been working consistently toward greater transparency within our supply chain. We aim to provide clear insight into how our products are made, and we are deeply committed to ensuring that all workers involved in the production process are provided with fair working conditions and a safe, supportive work environment. Our ambition is to uphold ethical standards across the entire value chain, from raw materials to finished garments, as an essential part of our long-term sustainability efforts.
5 What is the most exciting thing on the horizon for Galvin Green?
Delfino: In 2026, we will introduce exciting new fabric innovations, including a windproof material without a membrane. This is part of our ongoing effort to reduce environmental impact without compromising on product performance. The fabric is so tightly woven that it naturally blocks wind, allowing no air to penetrate, while still maintaining a high level of comfort and functionality.
