Lincoln, NE – The Nebraska PGA made history Sunday night, March 22, with the debut of its Hall of Fame & Special Awards Celebration at The Country Club of Lincoln. The inaugural event brought together golf professionals, industry leaders, and supporters from across the state to honor excellence, dedication, and lasting contributions to the game.
The evening highlighted the 2026 class of Hall of Fame inductees, recognizing individuals whose impact has helped shape the growth and reputation of golf in the Section. In addition to the inductions, several annual awards were presented, celebrating achievements in teaching, player development, and service to the profession.
With a strong turnout and an atmosphere of pride and camaraderie, the event marked a significant milestone for the Nebraska PGA. The successful launch of the celebration sets the stage for it to become a staple tradition, shining a spotlight on the people who continue to elevate the game across the region.
Las Vegas, NV – The Nebraska PGA concluded its 36th Annual Nebraska PGA Vegas Classic, presented by Callaway Golf, Vinnie Krikac’s State Farm Insurance Agency and Harris Golf Cars, February 23-25 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Over three days, the field competed across three outstanding venues, highlighted by longtime host DragonRidge Country Club and new 2026 hosts South Shore Country Club and Las Vegas Country Club.
The tournament ultimately came down to a final-round showdown at Las Vegas Country Club, where defending champion Brady Schnell of Firethorn Golf Club delivered when it mattered most. Schnell made five birdies in the closing round to collect 41 points, finishing with a three-round total of 133 points after earlier rounds of 44 and 48. His steady play and timely scoring surge secured back-to-back Nebraska PGA Vegas Classic Professional division titles, adding another chapter to an already impressive run in the event.
The team division also came down to a strong collective finish. Representing The Fairways at Lincoln, the team of Matt Eilrich, Brock Peters, Jim Porter, Matt Olsen and Brad Neumer compiled 341 total points over the three rounds to win. After making key moves during the second round at South Shore CC to take the lead into Wednesday, the group closed the door with a consistent final-round performance at Las Vegas Country Club to secure the victory.
