Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry showed he’s got game in golf, too.
In July, Curry sank an 18-foot eagle putt on the 18th hole to win the annual star-studded American Century Championship at Edgewood Tahoe GC in Lake Tahoe.
Curry finished with 75 points in the Stableford event, two ahead of runner-up Mardy Fish, a former pro tennis player who won in 2020.
The first Black winner of the tournament in its 34-year history, Curry’s $125,000 winner’s check was donated to charity due to his amateur status.
"I don't do this for a living, so it's something you dream about," Curry said. "I've been playing in this tournament for almost a decade and now I've got some hardware to show for it. It's pretty special."
Curry had the shot of the event as well, making the first-ever hole-in-one from “way downtown” on the par-3 7th hole. Not surprisingly, video of the ace went viral on social media.
In other championship news, NBC Sports and American Century Investments jointly announced a multi-year extension of the American Century Championship through 2029, the tournament’s 40th anniversary.
