The Mixed Team Series, which features 10 one-day team (one female and one male) tournaments at some of the finest courses across Northern California, still has some openings for two upcoming events.
On June 30, the Series will make a stop at Catta Verdera CC in Lincoln. Also on slate is a visit to Baylands GC in Palo Alto on July 11.
Mixed Team Series events are typically held on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday with a variety of formats : Four-Ball Net, Four-Ball Stableford or Chapman.
To help ensure fairness, tournaments are flighted by combined team Handicap Index to ensure golfers of all abilities will be able to enjoy the competition and have the opportunity to win prizes.
There too is a season-long points system where teams can earn entry into the Mixed Team Series Championship, a two-day event to be held Nov. 7-8 at Poppy Hills.
The season-ending championship will feature the top 56 teams on the regular season-ending points list. Only teams playing in the Mixed Team Series one-day events are eligible to play in the championship in November. As a bonus, the top two teams on the points list after the final regular season event will receive free entry into the championship.
“The Mixed Team Series has been great for not only meeting new people, but for fun competition playing a variety of formats. We also really enjoy experiencing new courses we don't normally get to play.”
